Falk Cabinets

Benjamin Falk (1853-1925) and Napoleon Sarony were contemporaries in the Broadway photography world of the 1870’s to 1890’s.  Falk’s cabinets displayed below often have the actor or actress name on the mount and occasionally have elaborately staged photographs depicting scenery from a specific play.  Most of the mounts on the Falk cabinets have a thin red line around the edges of the mount with the Falk name in red as well.  Earlier cabinets do not have this line and are typically found in a dark gray or black ink for the Falk name.  Falk photos were used for the Newsboy green mount photos numbered 300-399 as you can see immediately below:
